| Many of us that have lived in East Tennessee know what this area has to offer. Some statistics are showing that others are finding out what a great place this is.
Bizjournals.com, the Web site of American City Business Journals Inc., has identified 100 cities nationwide where the number of residents over 65 has increased rapidly in the last 5 years. 938 markets were compared in eight statistical categories, resulting in a list that includes communities from all over the country.
Eight cities in Tennessee made the list with seven of those cities being in East Tennessee. Morristown, Sevierville, Greeneville and the Bristol-Kingsport area are among the East Tennessee cities of specific mention. The list includes:
Crossville, TN (4th)
Sevierville, TN (57th)
La Follette, TN (64th)
Kingsport-Bristol Area, TN (70th)
Harriman, TN (78th)
Paris, TN (80th)
Morristown, TN (84th)
Greeneville, TN (87th)
